A phone-first plumber for Phoenix and the rest of Arizona
Prime Plumber Phoenix takes plumbing calls from Phoenix and from cities across Arizona. Most of our work is in the Valley of the Sun, in Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Scottsdale, Tempe, Peoria and Surprise, and we also take calls from Tucson, Flagstaff, Yuma, Prescott and other cities across the state. The fastest way to get help is to call (857) 201-2772. A person answers, asks what is going on, tells you what to do right now to limit damage, and sets up the next step.
We keep it simple. You describe the problem. We tell you what we think is likely and what it usually involves. On site, the plumber finds the cause and gives you a written quote before any work starts. You get a clear explanation, a price in writing, and no surprises halfway through the job.

Call (857) 201-2772Why Arizona plumbing wears out differently
Arizona is hard on plumbing in three ways. First, the water is hard almost everywhere. Utilities across central and southern Arizona blend groundwater with surface water from the Salt and Verde rivers and Colorado River water delivered by the Central Arizona Project. That supply meets drinking water standards, but it carries a heavy mineral load. Scale builds in water heaters, tankless heat exchangers, faucet cartridges, toilet valves and drains. It is the single biggest reason water heaters in Phoenix and Tucson give out early.
Second, heat. In the low desert, garages and attics pass 120 degrees on summer afternoons. Water heaters, PVC, irrigation lines and the rubber parts inside valves age faster. Cold-water lines run warm, and pipes routed through attics during a repipe need proper insulation. In the high country around Flagstaff and Prescott the problem flips: hard freezes split pipes in exterior walls, crawl spaces and hose bibbs.
Third, slabs. Almost every home in the Valley is built on a concrete slab, and in many homes from the 1970s through the early 2000s the water lines run under or through it. Copper in contact with concrete, hard water and soil movement lead to slab leaks. The signs are a high water bill, a warm floor or the sound of running water when everything is off. Our leak detection and slab leak repair pages explain how we find and fix them, and when a repipe makes more sense.
Water heater replacement cost calculator
Wondering what a new water heater costs? Our water heater replacement cost calculator gives a typical installed range for standard tanks by size, tankless units and hybrid heat pump heaters. It factors in gas or electric, where the heater sits and code items like an expansion tank. The base ranges come from a published national cost guide, and the result is an estimate, not a quote. For an exact price, call (857) 201-2772.

Hiring a plumber in Arizona
The Arizona Registrar of Contractors oversees contractor licensing in the state. Before hiring anyone, look them up on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors contractor search to see license status and complaint history. Ask for the scope and price in writing, ask whether the job needs a permit from your city, and keep your receipts. Statewide water information is available from the Arizona Department of Water Resources and drinking water rules from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.
Common calls by season
- Summer (June to September): water heater failures in hot garages, irrigation and pool-fill leaks, warm cold-water lines, and drain clogs from heavy household use.
- Monsoon (July to September): yard drains and cleanouts overwhelmed by runoff, sewer backups after storms, and roof and patio drainage that sends water toward the slab.
- Winter (December to February): frozen and split pipes in Flagstaff, Prescott and Sierra Vista, slow water heaters as incoming water cools, and hose bibbs that crack overnight.
- Spring and fall: good times for water heater flushing, softener service, backflow testing, camera inspections before a home sale, and planned repipes.
Seasonal work is easier to schedule than an emergency. If your water heater is past ten years, your drains have been slow for months, or you have had a slab leak before, call before it turns into a weekend problem.
When you are ready, call (857) 201-2772. Prefer to write? There is a short request form at the bottom of every page, and we will call you back.
